Little River Band concert May 2017

The Little River Band hasn’t lost the talent for keeping the crowd happy over the past 42 years. They are successful in Australia, where they formed in 1975, and the United States. Reminiscing (an early hit for the group) demonstrates the talent and passion for delivering a memorable experience.

Their performance in Sparks, Nevada on May 27th and 28th, 2017 was a special treat for rock fans to enjoy seeing the men in concert.

Songs like Take it Easy on Me and Cool Change did not disappoint. It’s a wonderful treat to be treated special for being a fan. Check out the Little River Band Fan Club on FB. It’s a relatively new place to visit. Members of LRB take pictures of the audience and post them to FB to review the following day (or later). You can see the rocking good time we had on Sunday night at the Nugget in Sparks.

The audience was encouraged to sing along as Lonesome Loser was  belted out for our listening pleasure. Even if you don’t know (or remember) the words, you’ll have them down pat in no time.

Upcoming concerts for 2017 include the Rialto Theatre in Tucson, Arizona on July 25, Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, NY August 3, and Rams Head On Stage August 7 in Annapolis, MD. Borrowing a line from Lady, “make time to be there.” I'm glad I did.

Fast and Furious Tidbits about Lasagna

I love lasagna. It can be made in so many ways! The other day we ate at a local Italian restaurant just to enjoy dinner out. The d├ęcor was very welcoming.

Although I always think of lasagna as an Italian dish, it’s been attributed to Ancient Greece and Early Britain. Named after the layers of sauce and pasta, there’s been a debate for centuries about where this fabulous, flagrant dish truly originated.

Who remembers Garfield and his insatiable passion for this delicious food?

National Lasagna Day is July 29th, but there’s no need to wait a year between servings. Lasagna freezes well. Pull it out and reheat in the oven or microwave.

If you don’t have time to boil the noodles (or you just consider them too messy), get oven-ready lasagna noodles that go right into the pan.  Most varieties are precooked and a bit thinner. They are dried and then boxed for sale.

Weird Al Yankovic treated us to some funny songs, including “Like a Surgeon” (a parody on Madonna’s “Like a Virgin”).  “La Bamba” did not escape from his attention. You can catch the alternate song “Lasagna” on You Tube.
