Silver and Gold Memories

Businesses encourage participation in Hot August Nights every year.

Silver memories of recent events are part of gold celebrations that have taken place for years. It's that type of activity that you might see one year and meet someone who remembers the event from decades ago.
It's wonderful to visit special places with people you love!

Some people have log cabin campers - creative and attention-getting.

The Hollywood Bowl is so beautiful. It is simply amazing that the acoustics are pleasing regardless of where a person is sitting during a performance.

Log cabins are part of the history of the Wild West. Today's log cabin campers honor the golden memories of another time.

A cousin in Oregon recommended this coffee house. Found one in Idaho.

What a delicious salad.

Droughts have affected the world for thousands and thousands of years. Our reservoirs are suffering when there is technology that can capture and hold the liquid gold of water.

Relatives are priceless. My cousin for recommending Dutch Bros. Coffee and my sister for agreeing to stop in Idaho and enjoy a cup with me.

Sometimes we find the best recipes shared by fellow bloggers. This tasty veggie and pasta salad with kielbasa is worth making time and again. It definitely deserves a gold medal for taste, plus it's easy to make.

What memories bear repeating among your friends and family?

    1. Thank you. I hope you make it to the Hollywood Bowl soon. The area around it is fun and the shuttles from the mall save so much hassle with parking.

  2. There used to be an A&W restaurant near us that we loved. It closed down, though. =(

    1. We had an A&W here, but it closed, too. Awesome root beer floats aside, they had the BEST burgers there.

    2. We also had one that closed down. It was a childhood favorite of mine though.

  3. i am angry, and in agreement, about the water remark, why are we not working harder to get water to everyone and every area that needs it! I do not take unlimited water for granted, but too many folks do. We have to protect everything on our planet!

  4. I love a good drive in. There are Stewarts Root Beer drive ins around us that I always have to stop at for a burger and a float!

  5. We went to the drive in all the time when I was little. We used to take my kids for many years until they got tired of it.

  6. This is so cool. I have yet to be able to go a drive in. Think I went as a young child, but plan to take my kids someday. We have one about two hours away!

  12. I do love A&W. It's been such a long time since I've been though, they took it out of our local mall. :(

  13. Drive-in's (both theaters and restaurants) seem to be a thing of the past but a nostalgic part of American. I remember my first A & W root beer float. Was heavenly!

  14. We have never had an A&W anywhere near us, but would sometimes pass them during road trips, wish we would have stopped in, but as a kid I had no control over the stops! LOL Those log cabin campers look pretty sweet!
