Today makes me want to wax poetic about sunny skies and warm afternoons in June. Instead, I am just thankful that the incoming thunderstorm and deluge of rain held off until I finished my outdoor tasks. Instead of soaking down the garden spot to plant the corn, peppers, and squash, I'll let Mother Nature do the job.
Black upon grey upon white cloud balloons toss, soar and drift in the sky. The wind blows hard enough to rattle the windows, sway the trees, and drop the temperature. We've postponed putting the large swamp cooler in the front room window until the weather stabilizes. It doesn''t appear it will be needed for the rest of the week!

The temperature is expected to drop to 47 degrees F tonight. I'm thankful I haven't packed all the warm blankets away yet.

Thunderstorms cut computer time short, but I'm glad they are holding off for now.

It has been so cold here in Boston the past 3 days, I actually turned on the heat. THAT cold.
ReplyDeleteWe live in the south, so we pretty much plan everything around thunderstorms this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI am in Florida so we plan outside stuff in the morning because of the rain and the heat. We are expecting afternoon showers through the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been pretty good here this summer. It's a little cooler than usual, but not by much.

ReplyDeleteOur weather here in Las Vegas has been wonky as well. We are usually swimming as much as possible by this time of the year but have yet to step foot in the pool.
ReplyDeleteOur summer has been cold and rainy so far. The rain has backed off until evenings only now which is better! Tonight we are under a tornado watch and flash flood watch! So unpredictable.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been very unpredictable here. Ii have had to have the air conditioning on in the daytime and the heat on at night.

ReplyDeleteOur weather in Toronto has been awful. Not sure where spring is but hoping it shows up sometime soon. The few hot days we had was such a tease! - jeanine

ReplyDeleteOur weather is all over the place. Just when I think summer is going to peak out, its all cold and wet again. Hopefully that doesn't mean that by August MI is going to hit record 100 degree weather.
ReplyDelete47 is cold! We've had a lot of rain lately, which has canceled or postponed various sports that my boys play.
ReplyDeleteWe had a sudden return to below 50 temps after a week of 80 degrees, which was a sharp contrast. Thankfully, we're back to sunny skies for our short Chicago summers.
