Traveling Tuesdays – Creative Inspiration

Markus Pernhart lived from 1824 – 1871. Like artists everywhere, he must have suffered from a creative block when nothing stood out as the one item to memorialize the day. His skill in pencil shading can be seen here.

That’s my day today – so many things and so hard to choose. I’m immersing myself in the beautiful quiet of this lake, the fisherman, and the high mountains surrounding the area.

There's no lake in this picture of Oregon near the Nevada border, but it has the same feeling of peace and beauty.

Someday I hope to tour Italy and perhaps I’ll run across this exact area. Meanwhile, I hope you draw inspiration if yours is wavering just a little and feel refreshed by the pastoral scene.

  1. We have so much natural beauty here in New England and I really need to sit back and appreciate it more than I do.

  2. I try to tear myself away from my job long enough to enjoy the beauty of nature at least a couple of times a week.

  3. I love going to art museums, but I don't do it often enough. I'm a hard critic as not everything moves me.

  4. Living in Little Rock we are all about taking in all that nature has to offer. We move every few years and try to live like tourists. I hope someday we make it abroad even if just for a visit.

  6. What a nice view. We live in Toronto so there's lots of tall skyscrapers and big buildings. Wish there was more of this type of scenery around here!

  8. I do love paintings and photos of large open landscapes. It would be amazing to live near one some day.

  9. What a gorgeous view. It's supposed to rain here tonight and the sky is filled with big, fluffy clouds. My kids are sitting around discussing what the clouds look like. It all makes me very happy.

  11. Stopping everything to take in the pure beauty of nature is something I find both necessary and calming. There are so many areas of Las Vegas that are breathtaking even though most people imagine nothing but casinos.

  12. I live near the Great Smokey Mountains and I try to appreciate the beauty that surrounds me. The saying, "Stop to smell the roses", is so true...

  16. Gorgeous views. I live in the middle of a corn field. I have no neighbors across the street, its corn. Behind me and to the left of me is corn. To my right is corn, but then I have a neighbor. One thing about Michigan is that we are surrounded by the Great Lakes which does provide a lot of natural beauty.
